In 1991 Kettering Textiles Limited and The Salvation Army, through the medium of its trading subsidiary Salvation Army Trading Company Limited (SATCoL), began an ongoing relationship which today, by sheer excellence of service, has become one of the country's largest collector of used clothing.

The Salvation Army, one of the most respected charities in the world, uses textile recycling to raise funds for those in need in very many ways. The esteem in which The Salvation Army is held by the general public has undoubtedly contributed to the success of the enterprise which now collects from more than 4800 clothing banks across the United Kingdom. In addition a door-to-door collection service visits millions of homes each year.

Kettering Textiles Ltd., relationship with Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd.

Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd., contracts Kettering Textiles Ltd., to carry out the work of collecting donated clothing on its behalf.  Items donated will be sold for re-use and recycling.  Of the net profits, two thirds are retained by Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd., and one third is passed to Kettering Textiles Ltd.  This means that at current market values Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd., will receive £260* per tonne of donated clothing.
